Galveston Bay Foundation has created a “Green Building” that will serve as our headquarters on the Bay, connecting people directly to the heart of Galveston Bay. Our building was designed to be net-positive for energy and to reduce water consumption by sixty-five percent compared to a normal building, with the intention of meeting Living Building Challenge Petal certification, the world’s most rigorous green building certification.

The Gessner Center
The Gessner Center is Galveston Bay Foundation’s state-of-the-art headquarters and education center, providing a place to learn, gather, conduct research, and connect with Galveston Bay.
Designed with energy efficiency and water conservation in mind, the Center features classrooms, meeting rooms, event space, and a lab equipped for water analysis and other research.
The Gessner Center expands Galveston Bay Foundation’s ability to advance conservation, research, and education while inspiring the next generation of Bay stewards and helping protect Galveston Bay for generations to come.
