Jasmin Canas

Jasmin joined Galveston Bay Foundation part-time in February 2026 as an Environmental Educator. She graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a degree in Marine Biology in August 2025. Before joining GBF, she worked in an environmental science lab studying the effects of microbial agricultural runoff in resaca waterways and worked as a veterinary technician. She loves teaching students about the connection we all have to the environment and the importance of conserving Galveston Bay. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time outdoors. Jasmin hopes to inspire the next generation of environmental advocates, as the generation before did for her.
